Summer sleeping bags for Babies and Toddlers

With the warm weather rolling around I'm always on the hunt for light sleeping bags. Here are some of our favourites.

Merino Kids Go Go Bag

I have to admit to being a bit of a Merino Kids addict. We pretty much have one of everything in their range. Anything that Merino Kids does seems to be a winner, but their original Go Go Bag really is a must have. They use lovely soft organic cotton for the outer layer and a super fine merino wool layer on the inside. The biggest advantage of wool is that it wicks moisture away from the body, regulating your temperature. So this keeps you cool when it's hot and warm when it's cold.

I love these sleeping bags because they are great in winter or summer. In summer I just pop Baby into her Go Go Bag in just a nappy, while in winter I put lovely warm (merino) pjs on under her sleeping bag. So they save You having to buy different sleeping bags for different seasons. And the fact that the sizing is for 0-2 years old means that you only have to buy one sleeping baby for baby, and not go through the expense of buying different sizes as they grow.

One of the other great features of all the Go Go Bags is that they zip all the way open around the side. So they lay flat to put Baby into and then You do the zipper up starting under the arm and then down around to the bottom. The zipper opening at the bottom means that Baby can't undo her Go Go Bag and You can leave the bottom open if it's warm when Baby goes to sleep and zip it up later in the night as it cools down.

Merino Kids also do their Go Go Bags in a Toddler size (fits 2-4 year olds) for those of us that have wiggly toddlers that kick the covers off in the night, get cold and wake up.

This is a "Worth Every Cent" item.

Organic Cotton Go Go Bags

Actual sleeping bag has
white embroidery
Merino Kids have done 2 beautiful organic cotton sleeping bags for this summer. Both of these come in Baby (0-2 years) and Toddler (2-4 years) sizes:

White Dragonfly Poplin cotton sleeping bag

These are delicious. They are white with white dragonflies embroidered on them. There are 2 layers of lovely light cotton. I snaggled one of these in a toddler size for Ella this year. These are the lightest of the sleeping bags that Merino Kids do.

MossGreen Cotton Go Go Bag

The Mossgreen is a great unisex colour. These sleeping bags have the same jersey knit cotton outer layer as the merino Go Go Bags, but with a cotton inner layer rather than merino. I had one of these for Ella for the last 2 summers and I alternated it with her merino Go Go Bag across the warmer weather.

Mizzle Summer Sleeping Sack

Mizzle baby products are another favourite in our house. Their Summer Sleeping Sacks have their trademark soft jersey cotton as the inside layer next to Baby's skin, and then a light cotton layer on the outside. These are a lovely basic summer sleeping bag. We use Ella's as her daycare sleeping bag. These come in either a 3-12 months size or a 1-2 year old size.
