Keeping your Toddler entertained whilst feeding your Baby

Having my Babies reasonably close together found me looking for ideas on how to keep my toddler entertained whilst feeding our Baby.  I was worried that she may become jealous of the time I was spending with the Baby so we put some special things in to her day so she was happy and I could feed our Baby without being interrupted.
  • We created a special box which we decorated and filled with toys chosen by my toddler.  This box only comes out at feeding time
  • We have a special DVD that my toddler is only allowed to watch when I am feeding her sister.

  • On a nice sunny afternoon I take my toddler to play outside in the backyard whilst I sit and watch her play and feed her little sister.
  • When my toddler is feeling a bit snuggly she often snuggles in next to me and we read her favourite book whilst I am feeding the Baby.
  • My toddler often has her morning or afternoon snack when the Baby has her ‘snack’.
  • We get the jigsaw box out and I help my toddler do her puzzles when I am feeding .
  • My toddler often ‘feeds’ her Baby whilst I feed her sister.
